2nd State examination for food chemists

The third section of examination at the end of the practical year in the official food control consists of the following subjects:


  1. Practical examination
  2. Written examinations
  3. Oral examinations in
      a) Food and consumers products legislation
      b) Organisation and functioning of food control 
      c) Quality assurance in laboratories and companies

 

Once the student has passed the third section of examination the respective authority (Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart) gives the permission to act with the job title "Staatlich geprüfte Lebensmittelchemikerin" or "Staatlich geprüfter Lebensmittelchemiker" (state-certified food chemist). This is mandatory for an employment in the area of official food control and consumer protection in Baden-Württemberg.
