1st State examination for food chemists
The second section of examination (University degree) is following after a 4-semester advanced study which includes the following topics:
1. Oral examination in the following subjects:
a) Food Chemistry
b) Food technology and process engineering
c) Food microbiology and hygiene
d) Biochemistry and Nutrition science
e) Toxicology and Environmental analysis
2. Scientific experimental work ('diploma' thesis) in one of the subjects of the oral examination.
The University of Hohenheim grants students who have passed the second section of examination the academic degree diploma food chemist (Dipl.-LMChem., Diplom-Prüfungsordnung). They receive a diploma report and a diploma certificate for this profession-qualifying degree.
