Food Chemistry in Stuttgart

The course of studies in food chemistry is jointly offered by the University Stuttgart and the University of Hohenheim (pdf), both of which are located in Stuttgart.

The following informations still concern the actual course of studies finishing with a state examination.]

 

The basic study is undertaken for 4 semesters at the University of Stuttgart. Having passed the first section of examination, students change-over to the University of Hohenheim, which is responsible for the advanced study (5 semesters). The period of study at university ends after completing 9 semesters and the second section of examination. The University of Hohenheim grants students a diploma degree in food chemistry after having passed the 1st state examination process

 

The third and last section of the education process is a one year internship in an authorized laboratory working in food control and consumer protection. After this one year period, students engage in the 2nd state examination for food chemists.

 

There is restricted admission called 'numerus clausus' of 36 students for the first semester and 25 for all upper semesters in the study of Food Chemistry.
